One afternoon, a thirty-year-old Robin receives a letter one afternoon conforming Robin’s attendances at a woodchopper’s camp. Upon arrival at the camp site, Robin is welcomed by a group of men, who are slightly perturbed by Robin’s presence. The camp leader notices that Robin is indeed enlisted; Robin’s name is probably the reason for the mix-up. For the men, the woodchopper’s camp is a men's camp, for Robin, the woodchopper’s camp is a woodchopper’s camp. Robin is treated as an intruder, but barely responds to the group’s bullying. During the barbecue, with the men fully enjoying a sausage fest, Robin, an outspoken vegetarian, is clearly meant to feel unwelcome and unwanted.

During a 'verbal woodchopping' assignment, as the men take it out on the trees in the forest, Robin watches on in amazement. In the evening, with the group sitting by the campfire, as Robin tries to ignore the umpteenth misplaced remark, Willem - a hearing-impaired man, who, like Robin, fits best outside the group - reaches out to Robin. As the evening draws to a close, Robin chooses to break the silence. With Robin exploding exploding both accurately and loudly, and the men seem to hear Robin for the first time.
