Alreadymade brings originality, authorship and identity in sharp focus – just as Fountain did in 1917. A chess-playing dandy, a nymphomaniac baroness and an unknown third party claim authorship over the most influential work of art of the 20th century, entitled Fountain.
Many years, theories and publications later, these three eccentric artists, given a cinematic afterlife, come up with an explanation themselves. Who has an interest in which reading of history, and what drives those interests? These are the big questions that the characters embody in the film.
